Description
St. Paul's Church of England Primary School is a school built in 1841, with later additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. It is a single storey structure, consisting of seven by four bays, with a later wing added to the left side. The school features a plinth, quoins, and coped gables with kneelers and finials. The windows are shouldered-arch chamfered mullions, arranged in groups of three and four, and have hoodmoulds. The second and sixth bays are gabled and slightly advanced, each with porches that have shouldered-arch doorways. Above these doorways are sunk panels inscribed with "BOYS" and "GIRLS." The doors are boarded and have decorative hinges. The sides of the building display a series of four gables. The later wing includes a tower-like entrance feature with pilasters and a pyramidal roof.
