Description
Hall's Buildings is a 17th-century house that has been converted into storage rooms. It features a timber-framed structure set on a stone plinth, with some brick repairs and additions, topped by a felt roof. The building has a rectangular plan with two rooms and two storeys, along with a lean-to addition at the rear. It consists of three structural bays, showcasing square panelling, some of which retains original wattle and daub infill. The panels are three high and include curved diagonal braces on the principal posts. The right gable has been rebuilt, and the rear is concealed by the addition. Inside, there are back-to-back fireplaces, a timber-framed internal crosswall, and original tie-beam roof trusses. The building is illustrated in F. R. Johnston's book, "Eccles, the growth of a Lancashire town," published in 1967.
