Description
This sundial, located adjacent to the south-west porch of the Church of Saint Luke, dates back to 1686 and features the initials "RH" for Robert Heywood, with a restoration noted from 1906. It is made of stone with a copper face. The sundial has a chamfered square shaft that stands on an inverted eight-sided cushion-type base, which includes the 1906 inscription. Above the base is a slightly projecting panelled stage, with inscriptions on each face. The sundial's face, which does not have a gnomon, rests on a cyma-moulded cornice that appears to be from the 1906 restoration rather than the original construction.
