Description

This is a late 19th-century shipping and packing warehouse, now used as offices for a schools examination board. The building is located at Bloom Street (with a return frontage on Harter Street) in Manchester. It has a trapezoidal shape and sits on a basement. The exterior is red brick with sandstone dressings, and the roof is hidden. The building is four storeys high and nine bays wide. The ground floor is channelled and has a stone cornice, while the upper floors feature pilasters. A wide segmental-arched doorway is located in the third bay (on the return of No. 104 Bloom Street), and a larger doorway, featuring a pedimented stone architrave, is in the sixth bay. The windows are wide segmental-headed, with wooden mullions and transoms, except on the top floor where they are coupled round-headed sashes. The rear of the building and its interior were not inspected. It forms a group with No. 2 to the north.
