Description
The New Union Public House is an early 19th-century public house that has undergone alterations. It is constructed of red brick with painted render on the ground floor and features a slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan situated on an island site, positioned at right angles to the street. It is two storeys high with three symmetrical windows. There is a plinth and a sill-band at the first floor, along with a segmental-headed doorway that includes a set-in doorcase and a panelled door. The windows on both floors have been altered to casement style. An inn sign is mounted on a bracket at the right-hand end of the first floor. The right-hand return wall is long and slightly concave, with similar openings to the front. There is also a back extension. Although the interior has been altered, it still contains some stained glass. The building is included for its group value.
