Description
The tower to the former church, located approximately 7 meters west of St. Saviour's Church on Kearsley Fold Road, is a Grade II listed structure. It features a plaque above the entrance that reads "NATHAN/WALWORTH/ BUILDED MEE/ANNO DO 1625." Another plaque notes that a vestry was added in 1726 and the church was rebuilt in 1826. A further stone indicates that the tower was raised by 2 feet and a new clock was installed in 1854.
The tower consists of three stages. The entrance, which is now blocked with an inserted window, has an architrave and a label mould, with date stones positioned under a relieving arch. There is also an entrance at the rear. The first stage includes a sill band and a three-light ovolo-chamfered-mullioned window with a label mould, along with a blocked entrance on the left return. The top stage features similar windows on all four sides and a four-faced clock above. The structure is topped with a cornice, an embattled parapet, and four pinnacles.
