Description
This is a terrace of nine houses located on Church Street, built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of stone and topped with a slate roof, standing two storeys high, with some featuring basements. The terrace has eleven bays in total.
On the ground floor, the houses display bowed windows with small-paned glazing and entablatures, while the first-floor windows are mostly casements. The entrances are accessed by steps and are adorned with flat pilasters and entablatures.
No. 54 is notable for being three storeys tall with three bays, featuring a second-floor sill band and a top cornice, as well as quoins. It has two 20th-century bow windows flanking a 20th-century entrance. No. 56 features a four-panel door with cusped upper panels.
Nos. 58 to 70 include basements, with No. 58 showcasing a sashed first-floor window, a six-panel door with an overlight, and iron handrails leading up to the entrance. No. 60 has decorative iron handrail balusters, while No. 62 also features iron handrails. No. 64 has a handrail similar to that of No. 60.
No. 66 is rendered and has a six-panel door, an early 20th-century oriel window, and iron handrails. No. 68 is similar to No. 66. No. 70 has quoins at the end, with 20th-century windows and a porch on its return. No. 70A serves as the basement for No. 70.
