Description
Carden Green is a 17th-century cottage located in Higher Carden, constructed from sandstone and brick, resting on a sandstone plinth. The building features a thatched roof that is covered in corrugated iron. It is a 1½ storey, two-cell rectangular structure with a central ridge chimney. The entrance has a boarded door, and there are small wooden casement windows in brick-arched openings on either side. The other windows located in the end and rear walls are from the late 20th century. There is also a small late 20th-century brick extension at the rear. Inside, the cottage has a central lobby-entrance and a stone ingle-nook with a small fire-window at the back. A steep stair with winders leads to the upper floor.
