Description
The structure is a reconstructed fragment of a Roman stone column located west of the loggia at the south end of the Broad Walk in Eaton Park. It includes the base, capital, and part of the shaft of a Corinthian column, which likely originated from the palaestra in Deva, now situated under St. Michael's Arcade. This column, along with the loggia and another column to the east, serves as the southern terminal of the main cross axis in Detmar Blow's redesign of the east garden, completed in 1911.
