Description
Upton Mill is a former windmill that has been converted into a house, likely built around 1775. It underwent significant restoration in the late 20th century. The building features a circular raking tower made of red brick arranged in Flemish garden wall bond, standing five storeys high with a flat roof. Most of the windows have weak segmental brick heads and small-pane iron casements that include intersecting tracery and a central hinged panel with four panes. There are also some sympathetic examples from the 20th century. At ground level, there are two doors and one loading bay located partway up the structure. Inside, very heavy softwood beams remain, although the rest of the interior has been altered.
