Description
The wall surrounding the former Quaker Burial Ground, now serving as a garden wall at Meeting House Cottage, dates back to 1686 and was partly rebuilt and altered in 1856. Constructed of sandstone, the wall incorporates stones from the former Meeting House, which was demolished in 1856. Two stones in the rear wall are inscribed with "EASTERLY EDGE OF FRIENDS MEETING HOUSE. BUILT 1686: TAKEN DOWN 1856 BY ORDER OF CHESHIRE. MONTHLY MEETING."
