Description
The western part of the north range of buildings at Newbold is a barn dating from the late 16th century, with a 19th-century brick outshut. It features a timber frame with washed brick nogging set on a stone plinth and has a Welsh slate roof. The barn has a rectangular plan and is a single storey with a three-bay north front, measuring 15 by 2 tall small timber frames supported by heavy passing braces. The only original opening is a near central doorway. The south side includes the brick outshut. Inside, the timber frame is nearly complete, with roof trusses that have diagonal braces and wind-braced purlins. The brick eastern portion of this range is not included in the listing.
