Description
This is a group of five houses located on Beeston Brow, Bollington, dating from the early 19th century, with alterations in the later 19th century. Originally three houses with weaving lofts above, they are constructed from coursed squared buff sandstone rubble with a Kerridge stone-slate roof, a stone ridge, and three brick chimneys. The main front is rectangular and six bays wide. The lower two storeys have one original iron casement window, with the remaining windows being 3-light wooden casements, all set beneath plain stone lintels. The doors are also set under plain stone lintels. The top storey features three 3-light iron casement windows with small openings in the centre, and has wooden guttering above. Stone steps lead to the rear, where a single-storey front extends the top storey, providing separate access and an expanded weaving loft. At the front, the six bays contain one iron casement, two wooden casements, and three doors all under plain stone lintels.
