Description
Limefield House is a house built around 1830 for Joseph Brook. It is constructed from ashlar brown sandstone and features a Welsh slate pyramidal roof with a large central stone chimney. The building has a square plan with an extension at the rear and is two stories high with a symmetrical three-bay south front. It has a plinth and clasping square pilasters at the corners, along with a low blocking course. The end bays contain 12-pane sash windows set in plain reveals, with simply carved panels beneath them. A heavy detached Tuscan porch features an earred architrave above a rectangular fanlight with intricate tracery, leading to a moulded eight-panel door. There is also a 12-pane sash window above the porch. Inside, there is a notable contemporary staircase and a Greek revival fireplace.
