Description
The Owlhurst is a former flour mill, now a joinery workshop, built around 1865. It is constructed from hammer-dressed buff sandstone and features a flat-coped Kerridge stone-slate roof with a stone chimney. The building has a rectangular plan and stands three stories high with a three-bay west front. The first floor is marked by massive quoins, and there is an elliptical arched central cart entrance. Above this entrance, there are two loading bays with projecting sills, which now have half-glazed doors. The windows on either side in the upper two stories include 16-pane sash windows, which are the original design. A projecting moulded cornice adds to the architectural detail. There is another cart entrance on the south front, and the east front retains its original fenestration.
