Description
The Coach House at Peover Hall is a mid-18th century building that has been converted into garaging, a tea room, and a flat. It is constructed of red Flemish bond brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. The entrance front consists of nine bays arranged in an A.B.A.C.D:C.A.B.A rhythm, with a stone plinth at the base. The central three bays project slightly and are topped with a pediment. There are three coach doors flanked by rusticated stone piers, with cambered arches above that rise from springing blocks, featuring dying chamfers on the lower edges. The arches have projecting keystones, with the central arch displaying a triple keystone.
On the first floor, there are three oculi with moulded stone surrounds, the central one having four keystones. Above this, the pediment contains a circular clock face. The building has three bays on either side, each with central semi-circular arched doorways that have moulded stone surrounds and projecting keystones. The 19th-century double doors and fanlights are also present. Sash windows with lugged stone surrounds are located to either side, featuring 3 x 4 panes. Additionally, circular windows on the first floor have stone surrounds, with the second and eighth bays having four keystones. The Old Stable Block adjoins to the left, while a 20th-century bowed oriel has been added to the right-hand first floor end, along with extensive 19th and 20th-century additions to the rear.
