Description
A pair of single-storey cottages, likely dating from the late 18th century, are situated on Fishers Lane, Blackpool. The construction uses cobblestone and brick, with a mix of roof materials including thatch, corrugated metal sheet, and slate. Each cottage originally comprised a single-unit plan featuring a gable-end chimney stack. Number 1 has been recently re-thatched and includes a rear extension with a cat-slide roof and a modern flat-roofed extension to its left side. Number 2 features a rear extension built of brick, topped with corrugated sheet, and a low side-extension with a slate roof. Doors are positioned near the gable ends, with Number 1 featuring a modern gabled porch. Both cottages have two rectangular windows along the front wall, all now fitted with modern frames. Number 2 has a small square window in its rear wall, near the end walls, possibly originally intended to provide light to the hearth. These cottages are listed as rare examples of single-storey, cobble-walled dwellings.
