Description
Lloyds Bank, located at 2 to 6 Darwen Street, is a substantial 19th-century building situated at the corner of Church Street, directly opposite the Cathedral. The structure is almost square in shape and features a high base, heavy quoins, and a prominent cornice supported by modillions, topped with a balustraded parapet. There are three round-arched windows facing Darwen Street and two on Church Street, all of which are linked and adorned with Composite columns and intricate ornamentation. The corner of the building is cut out to create a square entrance, which is framed by iron gates set within a round arch.
