Description

Numbers 235, 235A, and 237, along with their forecourt walls, railings, and gate, originally formed one house, now divided into two dwellings. The building dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of local light red brick with stone dressings. The roof is low-pitched and hipped, covered in Welsh slate, with brick chimneys set into the hips. The house has two storeys and a tall basement, with pedimented dormers lighting the upper level. It has five bays, with stone lintels and cills to the sash windows, from which the bars have been removed. The front entrance features a six-panel door with an oblong fanlight, set within a pedimented Roman Doric doorcase with engaged columns. A basement entrance is located under a perron and features a wrought iron handrail. A set-back left extension exists. A low stone forecourt wall runs along the front, topped with wrought iron railings and a gate.
