Description
No. 106 High Street is a building dating from around 1700, with its roof raised and front refurbished around 1800. It is constructed of local brick and features a fairly high pitched pantiled roof with end chimneys, one of which has been rebuilt. The building has a deep moulded and modillioned eaves cornice. It stands three storeys tall and has four windows, with stone cill bands on both floors. The sash windows, which date from the 18th and early 19th centuries, have stuccoed lintels and stone cills with glazing bars. There are six steps leading up to a Victorian door, which is set within a classical doorcase that has engaged columns and a deep panelled reveal. Wrought iron area railings are present to the north. At the rear, there is a long wing that retains original features.
