Description
The pigsty range, dating from the mid to late 18th century, is located approximately 35 meters north of Ormesby Grange Farmhouse. It has been largely rebuilt between 1982 and 1986. The structure is made of brick with stone copings and features renewed clay pantile roofs. The building has a crescent shape and consists of eight single-storey terraced lean-to pigsties, along with end storage sheds. Each pigsty has a stable door, and the four pigsties on the right side project slightly, featuring cambered-headed windows with hit-and-miss and glazed upper lights to the left of the doors. The pigsties on the left side have lozenge-pattern breathers to the left of their doors. A small yard, enclosed by a wall and a boarded gate, fronts each sty. The storage sheds have boarded doors, and the outer face of the wall is buttressed, displaying alternate arrowloop and quatrefoil openings with plain stone surrounds.
