Description
Flagstaff House is a late Georgian house constructed from ashlar stone. It features a cornice and quoins, and has a slate mansard roof with three dormers that have segmental pediments. A balustraded parapet encircles the top of the building, and a square look-out room is situated at the center of the ridge. The house consists of two main storeys, with a central panelled door and fanlight set within a Tuscan pilastered frame. On the ground floor, there are two 12-paned sash windows, and three sash windows are located above on the upper storey. The gable ends have high false walls that rise to a square-topped gable, concealing the chimneys. There are low flanking wings at the front of the house, which do not have any openings.
