Description
This is a farmhouse, likely dating to the late 17th or early 18th century, that was altered around 1800, extended, and refenestrated in the late 19th century. It is constructed of roughly-cut rubble stone with large quoins, and has later cut stone dressings. The roof is tiled, with Welsh slates on the extension, and the ends have brick stacks. The main part of the house is two storeys high and three bays wide, with an uneven appearance. A boarded door is centrally positioned, set in a tooled stone surround and sheltered by a rustic wood porch. There are 24-pane Yorkshire sash windows either side of the entrance, and 12-pane sashes on the first floor, all with tooled lintels and sills. The gables are coped, with stepped end stacks. A lower, one-bay extension is to the right, with tooled-and-margined quoins; it has a casement window with a re-used tooled lintel above a 12-pane Yorkshire sash. It has a hipped roof. A low outbuilding to the left is not of architectural interest. Internally, there are some two-panel doors and a five-bay upper-cruck roof.
