Description
The gate lodge, located to the east of Eglingham Hall, was built in 1826 and features the initials R.O (Richard Ogle) ESQ on the lintel. It is constructed from tooled square stone and has a Welsh slate roof. The lodge is a single storey with two bays and includes a plinth. The central boarded door is flanked by 12-pane Yorkshire sash windows, all of which are under hoodmoulds. The roof is hipped with overhanging eaves and has a central stepped-and-corniced ridge stack. There is a similar window and a small 4-pane casement on the left return. A later extension to the rear is not considered of special interest.
