Description

The Village Cross is a 13th-century structure that was altered in the 18th century. It is made of cut stone and features three steps leading up to a chamfered base. The base supports a square shaft adorned with worn nail-head ornament on the angle chamfers. The shaft has been truncated and now includes a ball finial at the top. The overall height of the cross is approximately 2.5 metres. Originally located at NZ 04876145, it was moved to its current position in 1852.
