Description
The gate piers and wall located south-west of the Church of St. Wilfred date from the 18th century. The churchyard wall is constructed of random rubble and stands approximately 4 feet high, topped with flat, roughly-dressed coping. The left gate pier features a pyramidal cap, while the right pier has only half a cap and is accompanied by six steps behind it, which may have served as a mounting block. This structure is included for its group value.
