Description
The stable range located 10 metres north of Bywell Hall dates from the late 17th century and was altered in the early 19th century. It is constructed of rubble, partly pebbledashed, with tooled stone dressings and features a graduated Lakeland slate roof. This long and irregular two-storey structure has five doors, including three double doors and two stable doors. There are eight small sash windows with glazing bars, evenly spaced between the doors, along with two small doors located below window level. A mounting block is positioned against the wall. The loft door is boarded, and there are three similar sash windows above it. The roof is hipped to the right, and the right side of the building displays an external stone stair leading to a boarded door. The rear elevation features blocked mullioned windows and an old doorway.
