Description

This is a house, dated 1757 on the door lintel, with alterations around 1830 and an extension in 1877. It is constructed of stuccoed brick with a graduated stone-flagged roof and cream engineering brick chimney stacks.

The garden front features two storeys and four bays. Raised-and-chamfered quoins are visible on the left side. The doorway, located in the second bay, has chamfered alternating jambs and a dated triple keystone on the lintel. New sash windows with keyed lintels are in the left end bay and above the door. A two-storey canted stone bay with mullioned windows stands alongside a two-storey cream brick bay window on the right. The steeply-pitched roof is hipped over a wing on the right return. The left gable has a stone coping with shaped kneelers. Tall end and ridge stacks are topped with ornamental chimney pots.

The rear of the house features a round-arched stair window, scattered sash windows, and three circa 1830 gabled half-dormers. An early 20th-century closed stone porch is set into the left side, featuring raised-and-chamfered quoins, a two-panel door recessed within a pedimented architrave, a keyed oculus, and an entablature with ball finials at each end. The interior was refitted in the late 19th century.

A cream brick wing, added in 1877 to the right return of the garden front, is not of particular architectural interest.
