Description
The gate piers and piers north of the Church of St Charles in Tudhoe Village were likely built around 1870 by J.A. Hansom and Son. They are made of sandstone ashlar and feature wrought iron gates. The three square piers have plinths and corniced pyramidal copings, which frame the vehicle and pedestrian entrances. The vehicle gates are made of square-section iron, adorned with scrolls beside pointed heads, twisted upper sections, pointed dogbars, and principals that have incised decoration and tendril terminals. The kissing gate has plain uprights and circular-section principals.
