Description
The Old School is a small village school constructed from thin coursed squared grey sandstone rubble, featuring limestone and Bath stone dressings, and topped with a Welsh slate roof. This T-shaped building has its foot formed by a rear wing, while the right-hand (north) arm may be an addition. It is a single-storey structure with a gable facing the street.
On the left side, there is a 2-light window with Caernarvon heads, alongside a tall chimney stack typical of Prichard/Seddon designs. In the gable, there is a 3-lancet-light window with stepped lights, followed by another single-light window of the same style, a doorway with a blocked architrave and a plank door, and another 2-light window. The left gable is plain, featuring paired lancets, while the right gable is hipped, indicating a possible addition, and includes a 2-light window similar to those on the left. The rear elevation was not visible during the time of resurvey. The interior was also not seen at that time.
