Description
Trinity Presbyterian Church of Wales is a classical, two-storey building with a rendered exterior and a pedimented four-bay front, which includes a full-width ground floor lobby. The façade features painted freestone dressings. Before 1894, the church had a flatter pediment and a different parapet. The bases for acroteria remain visible. The pediment is interrupted by a giant arch over the recessed central two bays, which includes lettering. The outer advanced bays are flanked by composite pilasters and have plain friezes, with horned 12-pane sash windows that feature architraves and detached pediments. The central windows are semi-circular headed with moulded heads, Ionic pilasters, and balustraded aprons, along with an inscribed and foliated datestone.
The lobby has channelled pilasters flanking the outer bays and detached cornices above the horned 6-pane sash windows. There are round arched paired entrances with an impost band, 6-panel doors, fanlights, and a central lamp bracket. The façade extends around the corner to the left, where composite pilasters flank a narrow end bay. There are five windows and an additional bay beyond, most of which is symmetrical. The building features cornices on both floors, sill bands, and an impost band to the gallery, with channelled ground floor detailing. The windows include small panes, with round arches over square heads. The narrow end bay, which has channelled pilasters, was added in 1908-1909 and features Venetian windows (the center one is blind) with pilasters and an apron, along with a blocked door flanked by sash windows. The right side and hall range are accessed by a round arched doorway located to the right of the façade, leading to a three-storey hall range.
Inside, the church has a rectangular layout with a raked gallery supported by quatrefoil-shaped cast iron columns with annulets, and a panelled gallery front. The ceiling dates from the 1950s. The platform has been altered, and there is an ironwork balustrade to the set fawr.
