Description
Cynghordy Viaduct is a railway viaduct constructed of stone, featuring a slightly curving design. It has 18 round-headed arches that are notably tall, with the arches made of yellow brick arranged in six bands. The stonework consists of rock-faced massive rubble that has been carefully dressed to create a smooth angle at the piers, which are splayed out at their bases. Below the springing of each arch, towards the top of each pier, there are square projecting blocks, likely intended for supporting wooden scaffolding during the construction of the arches. The viaduct is topped with stone flat parapets.
