Description
Hurdley House is an end-terrace house built of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring nogged brick eaves and a slate roof that is hipped at the northeast corner. The house has three storeys and a cellar, with one window bay and a door located to the left. The ground and first floor openings have brick cambered heads, with 12-pane sash windows, while the attic features a flat-headed 6-pane square window that breaks into the lower course of the eaves. To the left, there is a cambered-headed doorway topped with a flat hood supported by brackets, leading to a six-panel 19th-century door that has an overlight with lozenge tracery. The right end of the house is constructed of rubble stone, also with nogged brick eaves, and has small-paned iron windows on each floor, with transoms on the ground and first floors and a pair of casement windows above. At the rear, there is a lower wing made of rubble stone, which serves as a lofted outbuilding for Bronwylfa on Broad Street.
Inside, the rear ground floor room features a stopped and chamfered east-west beam with joists, and there is a chamfered beam in the front room. The staircase is located in the southwest corner.
