Description
The gate piers, gates, and attached walls at the north entrance to Doldowlod House are made of freestone and feature panelled gate piers with broad pinnacles. The panels include roundels with low-relief carvings: an elephant on the left side and a Pious Pelican alongside a key on the right side, which are said to represent the Gibson and Watt families. The wooden gate includes a pedestrian gate on the right side, which has a lower panelled outer pier and a balustrade that balances the composition on the left side. The gateway is flanked by S-curve walls made of dwarf rock-faced stone, with a balustrade featuring quatrefoils in lozenges, freestone coping, and plain intermediate piers. The terminal piers are also panelled.
