Description
The Ivy House is a 2-storey building, likely originally designed as a 2-unit structure, featuring a continuous outshut at the rear and a later 2-storey extension that runs at right angles to the front. The original section is constructed of rubble stone with a renewed slate roof. It has 2-light mullioned windows with hood moulds on the right side, where the upper storey windows are made of stone and the lower ones have been replaced with brick. On the left side, which is concealed behind the front extension, there is a small-pane casement window below and a 2-light mullioned window above, both with hood moulds. The left gable end includes early insertions, such as a ledged and battened door located to the left of centre, along with upper and lower storey windows in the outshut. The right gable end features similar windows in the outshut, and there is a brick stack on the right side, along with a dormer that has a 2-light casement window in the outshut. The front extension is made of brick, stands taller than the original house, and has a slate roof with an end brick stack. The entrance elevation displays openings beneath brick hood moulds, including a 4-panel door on the right and a large 12-pane sash window on the left, with a smaller 12-pane sash window above it.
