Description
No 1 of 6 graves in the graveyard to the west of All Saints Church is a simple chest tomb. It features a partially legible inscription on the south side that includes the name Hughes and the date 1799. The tomb is set within an enclosure approximately 1.8 meters square, which is formed by a low stone plinth topped with cast-iron railings. These railings have simple waisted finials and urn finials at the corners. This grave is part of a notable group of 18th and 19th century graves with enclosures made of cast-iron railings in various ornamental styles, and it holds group value with All Saints Church.
