Description
This is a two-window house and shop, dating back to the 18th century, with a long rear wing set flush with the west gable. The front of the building is constructed from random stone, while the west gable and rear wing are roughcast on a low plinth to the ground floor, with imitation timber framing on the upper storey. The roof is covered in slate.
The shop front features a half-glazed wooden door flanked by plain-glazed shop windows, all articulated by moulded pilasters with small capitals. A boarded door sits to the right, similarly decorated with pilasters, and all are covered by a continuous moulded cornice. The upper storey has two gabled half-dormers with timber struts to the gables, each containing wooden cross-windows. The upper lights of these windows have quarry glazing. The east gable end is adjoined by a later building. The west gable has a large, plain-glazed shop window on the ground floor, again with pilasters and a plain cornice; there are no windows on the upper storey.
The long rear wing to the left has two small, plain-glazed wooden windows on the ground floor and two gabled half-dormers with cross-windows to the upper storey, mirroring the front elevation. A small skylight is located to the right. The north gable end of the wing features a three-light wooden window on the ground floor.
The shop on the ground floor of the main range is open-plan. The ceiling retains cross-beams with a very small chamfer and plain joists.
