Description
The Long Barn Range at Pengwern Hall is a 19th-century building constructed from rubble with a slate roof and freestone dressings. The upper eight bays form a single block and feature two tiers of ventilation holes at the top. Below these, there is a central two-light cusped window with a filleted mullion, which has 19th-century glazing. On either side of this window, there are boarded doors with freestone surrounds; the left door has a camber head, while the right door has an elliptical head and was once topped with a gabled hood. These doors are likely reused from Valle Crucis Abbey. A small window is located at the extreme right. To the left, there is a vertical masonry break, beyond which the building is 19th-century rubble with red brick surrounds for the ventilation slits. There is also a later red brick stable lean-to at the front. The gable end has a broad opening, and there is a cross range behind it. At the rear, outside steps lead to the angle with the cross range.
