Description
1 Fron Dirion Terrace is a late Georgian house with Greek Revival details, dating to the late 18th or early 19th century. It is a two-storey building with modern attic additions, originally designed with a two-window front. The front elevation is rendered and features giant order pilasters, adorned with heavily ornamented capitals and an entablature with floral dentils and stucco wreaths. The roof is slate-covered, with rendered chimney stacks; those at the ends have arched panels. Wide eaves are present at the left gable, while the right gable features an arched window and projecting pilasters at each end. Numbers 2 and 3 have bay windows. The bay window at Number 2 is squared and features ornamentation similar to the first-floor cill band; the bay window at Number 3 is a modern, splayed addition. A bay window may have been removed from Number 1. Cross-frame windows are located above the entrances. Number 2 has three-light windows, while Numbers 1 and 3 feature modern casement glazing.
Number 3 has a doorcase with a pedimented, stucco-decorated lintel and arched panelled door. The window above the door, and the window at Number 2, share similar enriched detail.
The rear of Numbers 1 and 2 has been modernised. An extension to Number 3 includes sash windows.
The interior of Number 2 retains arched niches and an elaborate deep cornice with interlace decoration in the first-floor drawing room. The cornice above the bay window was likely removed to accommodate a Victorian pelmet.
