Description
Cae'r Pwll is a one and a half storey double-fronted cottage built from rubble stone, notable for its distinctively colourwashed red front. It features a grouted roof made of old small slates, a small centre roof light, and whitewashed rubble end chimney stacks. The entrance is offset to the left and includes a modern four-pane half-glazed door, with a slate tablet above that displays the decoratively inscribed initials "III" and "Cae Pwll" along with the date 1789. There are indications of a gabled porch that has since been removed.
The cottage has horned four-pane sash windows on both floors, likely added in the late 19th century, while the original openings for the ground floor windows have been retained. At the same time, gabled eaves-breaking dormers with finials were added, and the heads of the windows are shaped to match the gables. The gable ends are whitewashed rubble on the right and slate-hung on the left. The unpainted, coursed rubble rear elevation features a central four-pane horned sash window and another on the ground floor to the right.
To the left, there is a later single-storey service range with a slate roof, which steps down from the main cottage. This range includes a boarded door to the front right, a nine-pane window to the left, and a chimney at the rear corner.
