Description
13 North Street is a Grade II listed building, likely dating from around 1800. It is a two-storey house with a basement, constructed from local stone, and features a distinct masonry break between its two-window front. The building has a slate roof with a rubble chimney stack, which is cement rendered, and narrow eaves.
The front of No 13 has four-pane sash windows with deep lintels, and a centrally located, deeply recessed doorway that contains a six-panel door and a fanlight above. To the left, No 15 is also shown on John Wood’s 1834 map and is three storeys tall, built from neatly coursed rubble. It has sixteen-pane sash windows on the first and ground floors, and eight-pane pivot windows on the second floor, along with a six-panel part-glazed door to the left.
No 15 is slightly deeper than No 13 and features four-pane windows as well as some modern windows. There are two modern windows on the right gable end and a four-panel basement door. No 13 previously had a short terrace extending to the rear, opposite the part of Tanyrallt that remains.
