Description
Ormiston Mains is a farm steading dating to about 1800. It has a quadrilateral plan, built of whin rubble with rough ashlar dressings. The frontal range features a central, segmentally arched pend. To the left is a cottage, and to the right are segmentally arched cartsheds with a loft above. The roof is slated, with two ridge stacks visible on the cottage. The property represents a good early example of a farm steading. The statutory address was updated in 2012 to include Leyden Road. The 1st Edition Ordnance Survey Map from 1859 depicts the site.
