Description
The boathouse on the Fish Pond at Glen Tanar House is a rustic structure, likely designed by Thomas Mawson in the late 19th century. It is a single-storey, single-bay building with a rectangular plan, featuring rounded granite rubble dry stone walls and timber bargeboards.
The southwest elevation, facing the lake, is symmetrical and has an open bay topped with an advanced boarded timber gable. The southeast and northwest elevations are blank, while the northeast elevation has an off-centre boarded timber door to the right and a boarded timber gable above. The roof is made of corrugated iron and turf. The interior was not seen in 1998.
