Description

Ballikinrain Castle is a large mansion built around 1850 in a baronial style by the architect David Bryce. A noteworthy cochere is present. The building was later used as a Church of Scotland residential school, resulting in the addition of external fire escapes. Temporary timber buildings are located within the grounds. The New Buildings Record provides further details.
