Description
The Old Bridge, also known as Drip Bridge, is a mid-18th century stone bridge spanning the River Forth, partially situated within Stirlingshire in St. Ninian's Parish. The bridge, approximately 206 feet long excluding its approaches, is constructed of ashlar piers, cutwaters, and voussoirs, with the remainder of the structure built from rubble. It features five segmental arches. The central arch is flanked by refuges on either side. The bridge was built around 1773, funded by public subscription. Ordnance Survey maps from 1862 depict the bridge within Stirlingshire.
