Description

The coach house and workshop at Bannockburn House were constructed around 1884. The main façades are made of stugged and snecked sandstone ashlar.

The coach house, located to the north, features a single-storey central section flanked by two-storey wings that project slightly. Both wings have crowstepped gables topped with steeply pitched roofs, spike finials, and ornamental cast iron brattishing along the ridges. The left gable includes an oculus window. The central section has a full-height vehicular entrance with a timber boarded door. The windows vary, featuring four, six, and eight-pane glazing in timber sash and case frames, along with some fixed pane windows that have top-hoppers. The building also has shouldered gablehead and ridge chimney stacks, and the rainwater goods are made of decorative cast iron. The roofs are covered with graded grey slate.

To the south of the coach house, against the west garden wall, is a single-storey, five-bay workshop made of sandstone rubble with a piended roof. This range has an irregular window pattern and irregularly spaced double-leaf timber boarded doors. It also features spike finials on the roof and ornamental ridge brattishing, with the roof similarly covered in graded grey slate.

The outbuilding to the east is excluded from the listing as per Section 1 (4A) of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) (Scotland) Act 1997.
