Description
The Royal Bank of Scotland, located at 21-25 King Street in Stirling, was designed by the architects Peddie & Kinnear from Edinburgh and completed in 1863. This four-storey building features an Italian Renaissance style without columns on the façade. The front has five windows with ashlar stonework, and the openings are shouldered. The first-floor windows are adorned with consoled cornices and an ornamental cill course, while the second floor has cornices as well. At the center of the building, there is a broad wallhead chimney with a shaped base and an eaves course. The original ground floor has been replaced by an inter-war entrance featuring Greek Doric columns made of granite.
