Description

This is a 1909 drinking fountain located in The Square, Gargunnock. It commemorates Jeannie Millar, widow of John Stevenson of Limefermline. The fountain is tall and stands on a plinth with decorative bands and a swagged frieze. A spout sits above a stone trough. An inscription reads “MCMIX in loving memory of Jeannie Millar, widow of John Stevenson of Limehill, Dunfermline. The water supply of Gargunnock was given by her son, the Reverend Robert Stevenson, Minister of the parish and this fountain was erected by her nephews 'The fruit of the righteous is a tree of light'”. The drinking cup is currently missing.
