81 Lanark Road, Crossford

These are a pair of stone-built cottages, originally four, dating from the 19th century and located at 81/83 Lanark Road, Crossford Village. They have fine ashlar detailing. The cottages feature skew gables and brick stacks. Slates have been removed, and an eaves band links the window and door margins. The window and door openings are grouped in the pattern of two windows, a door, two windows, a door, and then two windows. Two of the window openings, one from each end, have been converted from doorways. Internally, the cottages retain splayed windows and stone fireplaces, although the interiors have been gutted and the roofs stripped.
