Description

This is a pair of stone-built cottages, originally four, dating from the 19th century and located at 83 Lanark Road, Crossford. They are distinguished by their fine ashlar detailing, including skew gables and brick stacks. The slates have been removed, but an eaves band is visible, linking the window and door margins. The windows and doors are grouped – two windows, then a door, then two windows and a door, then two windows – with the second window openings from each end having been converted from doorways. The interiors retain splayed windows and stone fireplaces, although they have been gutted and the roofs stripped. The statutory address is 81/83 Lanark Road, Crossford Village.
